“What is Web 3.0?”
I hope that this book will answer the questions commonly held by those who pick up this book.
Although it may be a stereotyped explanation, this section begins with an overview of the environment surrounding Web 3.0 and the structure of this book as an introduction.
The term "Web3" has been heard much more often.
Originally called the "blockchain industry," this industry has suddenly begun to be called the "Web 3.0 industry" in the latter half of 2021, and has been completely rebranded from the a little fishy image of blockchain to a somewhat cool term.
This has become a trending keyword in the IT domain not only in Japan but around the world. Famous people such as Elon Musk of Tesla, SpaceX and Jack Dorsey, former CEO of Twitter, have also expressed their opinions on "Web3".
In addition to being an instant buzzword, the Web 3.0 industry brought in $17.2 billion in VC investment in the first half of 2021. Money and talent from around the world are now flowing into this industry.

The term Web 3.0, or Web 3, first appeared in a 2006 interview with Web inventor Tim Berners Lee, with a nuance such as "after Web 2.0”.
In 2014, Gavin Wood, CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of the Ethereum cryptocurrency development project, proposed the concept of "Web 3.0" as the Web in the "post-Snowden era" in pursuit of privacy and decentralization.
By the way, this is a trivia, but the name of the JavaScript library required to create Ethereum "dApps" is "web3.js". I feel that the vision to create Web 3.0 with Ethereum is reflected in these places.
Since it would get complicated if we start defining the details, in this document, we will proceed treating the "blockchain industry" as the "Web 3.0 industry".

Web 3.0 is a term that indicates the next stage of the current Internet, as well as "Global movement to fundamentally rework the current Internet and make it more useful”. In order to talk about this movement, we must first know the past and present of the Internet, so please bear with me for a moment.
First of all, there was the rise of the Internet. The early Internet was computers communicating with each other through physical wires. This Internet began to be built in the 60s and 70s. I wasn't even born then, but the Internet industry has been growing steadily ever since.
